110 lbs. - Nick Evans
When I was in high school I was a big boy, weighing in at a cool 310 pounds. I was always inside drawing, painting, sketching, but never going outdoors or participated in sports. I would snack all the time and then would have a huge meal on top of that, so over time I gained a ton of weight. I let myself go, but hey, it was high school and I didn’t know better. I graduated and moved onto college, where my problem still was my inactive lifestyle. This is where I was introduced to graphic design and spending more time in front of a computer. Campus life was not helping out with the food situation because we were given a food card that we had to use up by the end of each semester. At this point no one had really pointed out my habits or made any suggestions to change my lifestyle. I was wrapped into my own little world, thinking everything was fine. Until one day I had a classmate really point out to me how much harm I could be causing my body. I needed to change. He was a true health nut, so he lit a fire under me to get my act together. I started running a little each night and started building up to 5 miles each night. I started eating right and within 6 months I had dropped 110 pounds. I stopped drinking pop and started drinking a lot more water. Went from a 3XL shirt to a medium and shoe size 16 to 13. Boy did I feel better about myself and my life. Was the biggest change in my life. That is my life badge and I wear it with pride and a sense of accomplishment, but I try and inspire others that anything is possible if you set your mind and heart to something.
